Connecting Truth to Life; Connecting with God and each other

connecting with each other

This is the blog for Chronological Bible Studies

Reading God’s Word not only connects truth to life in our understanding about God; it helps us in our relationships with each other.  If we practice the truth and principles in God’s Word, it helps us to understand each other and how to handle various situations in life. The Bible should be more than an academic exercise or a ritual to observe– it should connect to your life…and it does!

Many people know bits and pieces of the Bible. They hear a sermon from a particular set of  Scripture passages one day, and then the following Sunday, it may be something completely different. They don’t read about God’s story from the very beginning. They only know what they’ve heard or read from small portions of his Word. It’s hard connecting with God that way, and you can get wrong ideas about him. That’s how I started out. Read my story.

Is there a better way? Yes, reading the Bible chronologically.

If you take the chronological journey with me, I’ll show you. We will look at life issues you may be dealing with and discuss answers from God’s Word.

Hi! This is Rodney Harrier, the author, and administrator of this site. Do you want to know God or have a deeper relationship with him? Reading the Bible chronologically is the best way of connecting truth to life. This video explains more.

Connecting Truth to Life

How are the events, people, and writings of the Bible connected? Standard Bibles are arranged according to the literary genre or type of literature. The historical books are Genesis–Nehemiah, except Psalms–Ecclesiastes, Isaiah–Ezekiel, and the other writing prophets. The New Testament begins with four narratives of the life of Christ, followed by a historical record of the early churches and letters written to them. Finally, there is a look into the future in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. A lot of the Bible is confusing because we aren’t Jewish Christians and don’t know their history with God.

In contrast, the chronological reading of the Bible puts the pieces together. You will understand why God did and said the things that he did. You will learn the heart of God and how he wants us to connect with him and each other.

Maybe you want to read the Bible through in one year, but you want some support and encouragement. I’m here for you. Just go to my website and signup for daily emails to receive the free offer for my chronological Bible reading schedules. You can print them out for your private use and follow along from your favorite Bible.

How do our Chronological Bible Studies Connect with Your Life?

Reading the Bible chronologically can give you new insights.

However, the Bible is not a textbook or just some historical document. Each character in it was real and lived with many of the same struggles we have: finding our purpose, living for God, marriage, family, jealousy, violence in our world, finances, and a host of other things. How do we deal with them? As we study God’s Word and read these Bible studies, we see many ways to apply God’s Word to our lives. Takeaway lessons, discussion questions, and prayer are also essential elements to the Chronological Bible Studies. These Bible studies will challenge you as they have me …every…year. As we learn and apply them, we enhance our connection with God and each other.

Here is what else is unique about our Chronological Bible Studies

The Context is Respected

I arranged the text to follow the theme of the writers of each Bible book. Then, I inserted parallel and sequential passages where there was a break in the narratives.

This approach helps you read the Bible in one-year and understand it without violating the meaning of the passages! Read all 15 reasons to love these unique chronological Bible studies.

You can Read at your own Pace.

If reading the Bible in one year is too slow or fast for you, you may study it at your own pace because I am changing the format from calendar date to days of the year. No more guilt if you get busy or life throws you a curve, and you get behind. There’s no reason to wait, either, if you are eager to do the chronological Bible studies faster than one year.

Each time through the chronological Bible studies, you should enjoy the experience more and more because they continually improve–new graphics, engaging content, and valuable applications.

Praying
Praying

If you want to go deeper, everyone has stuff going on in his life and makes little and big mistakes. We all experience smooth roads and rough patches (or even potholes). I can pray for you, and if you want to go public, those who view this blog will also pray for you. Yeah, we are strangers, but it can be surprising how many life experiences we have in common. The world will know we are Christians by our love (I John). We all want and need connections.

I hope you want to be a contributor. No self-promotion of books or other products or services are allowed, except mine (hey, it’s my blog, right?). The only thing I ask is that we love each other, consider each other, and support each other. We can share in our joys and sorrows, laughter and tears.

Have you got something to share today? Why not right now?

Where can you go from here?

Perhaps like many, you wonder, What is truth, and how can we find it? That is the topic of our next page.
